How To Place An Ad On DieselTraderOnline.com
Step1:
Sign Up! Enter your first name and last name in
the appropriate boxes. Next create a user name and password. Make sure
your user name and password are both at least 6 characters each. After
you create your password, confirm it by typing it again.
In the next box type your valid email address.
Make sure it’s valid because important information about your account
will be sent there. The next box is for your phone number but it is not
required.
Last type your city, state, and zip code and then click on the “Sign
Me Up!” button on the right.
Step
2:
Next you will be taken to the Control Panel login
page. Here you will need to enter the user name and password you just
created. Enter this information and then click on “Sign In”.
Step
3:
After you have entered your user name and password
you will be at the Listings Manager. This is where you will control
your ad. To get started placing your ad click on “Add Listing”.
Step
4:
Once you are at the “Add Listing” page you will see
a form with various blanks that need to be filled in. The fields with
the * next to them mean that you are required to fill them out before
your ad can be placed. The fields without an * by them do not have to
be completed, but it is recommended to have a more complete ad.
The first drop down box you see will have your user
name in it already. You do not need to do anything with this box. The
second drop down box is the default and cannot be changed at this time,
so you don’t need to do anything with this box either. The third drop
down box is your listing status. You can mark your vehicle as either
“Available”, “Sale Pending”, or “Sold”. Obviously, if
you’re listing your ad for the first time you will want to mark it as
“Available”. You can come back and change the status later if you want.
Step
5:
The next section of boxes is self explanatory but
we will go through them real quick.
Stock Number: If you are a dealer and have
a stock number for your vehicle you can type it here.
VIN: This is where you will place your
vehicle identification number.
Model Year: This is where you put the
model year of your vehicle. The number (2006) next to the box is just
to show that you need to use 4 digits instead of 2.
Make: Choose the make of your vehicle from
the drop down box.
Model: This is where you should write the
model of your vehicle. For example if you have a Ford F-250 you would
write F-250 in the box.
Condition: Choose either “New” or
“Pre-Owned” from the drop down box.
Category: Choose either “Diesel Truck”, “Diesel SUV”, or "Diesel Other".
Secondary Category: You will not use this
category.
Miles: This is where you put your vehicle’s
mileage.
Usage: Here you can write what your truck
is used for. For example you can put “Work Truck” or “Commuter” or
“Pleasure Driving”, etc…
Price: Here you will put the asking price
of your vehicle.
Sale Price: If you are a dealer you can
place a sales price for your vehicle.
Price Alternative: This is where you
can put phrases like, "Or Best Offer", "Trades Considered", etc.
Exterior Color: This is where you will put
the exterior color of your vehicle.
Interior Color: Put your vehicle’s interior
color here.
Doors: You can put how many doors your
vehicle has here.
Fuel type: There is only one option since
this is a diesel site. Select “Diesel/Biodiesel”.
Drive Train: Put the kind of drive train
your vehicle has here. For example, you could put “Allison
Transmission”.
Engine: Put the kind of engine your vehicle
has here.
Transmission: Select “Automatic” or
“Manual” from the drop down box.
Top Speed: You can place the top speed your
vehicle will reach here.
Horsepower: This is where you can put your
vehicle’s horsepower if you know it.
Torque: This is where you can put the
amount of torque your vehicle has if you know it.
Towing Capacity: If you know the towing
capacity of your vehicle, place it here.
Step
6:
The next section lists potential options that your
vehicle may have. Go through and mark the options that apply to your
vehicle. You are not required to mark any of the options, but the more
information you give, the better informed your potential buyers will be
when they contact you about your vehicle.
Step
7:
The next section let’s you describe anything else
you may want to add about your vehicle.
In the “Additional Features” box you may
type any other options that were not covered in the above sections.
Please place the features in list form using one line per feature.
In the “Description” box you can add any
additional comments you may have about your vehicle. For example you
may want to put something like, “Runs great! Just tuned up a week ago!”
in this box.
Step
8:
In the last section on this page you can direct
potential buyers to other places on the web where more information about
your vehicle can be found. You can also add a sub-headline to your
listing.
In the box labeled “Tagline” you can put a
line of text that is used as a sub-headline for your listing. When
someone searches for a vehicle and yours shows up, this “Tagline” will
appear under the title of your listing. You may want to put something
like, “Awesome F-250 Waiting For A New Owner!”
In the box “Additional Info URL:” you can
put a website address (if you have one) where more information can be
found about your vehicle.
In the “Additional Info Text” box you can
put a title (anchor text) that will direct customers to your “Additional
Info URL”. This text will be hyperlinked with your “Additional Info
URL:” For example, if your “Additional Info URL:” is
http://www.dieseltraderonline.com and your “Additional Info Text” is
More Info About this Truck… Then this is what you will see on the
top and bottom borders in your listing:
More Info About This Truck When you click on this text it will
take people to your other site.
In the “ebaY Auction URL:” box you can put
the link to your ebaY auction (if you have your vehicle listed on ebaY.)
The easiest way to put this link here is to go to your ebaY auction and
highlight the URL in the browser, then right click on the highlighted
URL, then select “Copy”. Next go back to the “Add Listing” page and
right click in the “ebaY Auction URL:” box and select “Paste”.
Step
9:
Next, double check that everything is how you want
it and click on “Submit Listing”.
Step
10:
Now it’s time to add your photos if you have some.
You can include up to 20 photos!
To add a photo click on the “Photo Manager”
tab at the top of the page. (Please note: At this point you should
have already taken pictures of your vehicle and uploaded them to your
computer. Make sure you save them in a folder or location that you will
remember. These instructions apply to Windows users. Instructions may
vary for other users.)
Next, go to the “Photo Upload 1” box and
click on “Browse”. When you click on “Browse” a new window
should pop up that show files and folders on your computer. Go to the
location you saved your photos of your vehicle and open this folder or
location.
Once open click on the first picture you want to
add to your listing and then click “Open”. You should now see the
location of your first picture in the “Photo Upload 1” box.
Repeat this step for your next 4 photos.
When you have a total of 5 photos selected (if you
don’t have 5 photos you can still follow this step) click on the
“Upload Photos” button. It will take a few seconds (maybe longer
depending on your Internet connection speed) to load your photos. Next
you should see small versions of the photos you uploaded. You can now
continue to upload the next 5 photos by repeating the steps above. You
can do this for a total of 20 photos.
Step
11:
Once you have successfully uploaded your photos to
the site, you can now preview how your listing will look by clicking on
the “Listings Summary” tab at the top of the page. Your listing
will look similar to how it looks here.
If you would like to go back and edit your listing
you can click on the “Edit Listing” tab at the top of the page.
If you want to remove your listing and start over you can click on the
“Remove Listing” tab at the top of the page.
If you would like to edit your contact information
or any other part of your account you may click on the “User Manager”
tab at the top of the page and then click on “Edit User”.
